About DIY Sim Studio
DIY Sim Studio started as a personal project driven by two passions: sim racing and engineering. I design and share DIY sim racing hardware projects for people who enjoy building their own equipment and understanding how it works, not just buying it.
I’m not a large company. I’m a maker, a designer, and a sim racing enthusiast who believes great hardware should be accessible, customizable, and honestly designed.
My Journey into Sim Racing
My experience with sim racing started early.
Like many, it began with Gran Turismo 2 on the PlayStation 1. That’s where I first discovered track layouts, racing lines, and the feeling of pushing a car lap after lap. Later came Forza Motorsport 2 and 4 on Xbox 360, which deepened my interest in more realistic driving physics and car behavior.
Eventually, I moved to PC — where everything changed.
Titles like Assetto Corsa, Automobilista, rFactor 2, DiRT Rally 1 & 2, and RaceRoom Racing Experience shaped the way I understand driving feel, feedback, and realism today.
Some tracks never get old for me: Spa-Francorchamps, Nürburgring Nordschleife, Monza, Macau, and Laguna Seca — circuits where precision, rhythm, and commitment truly matter.
My hardware evolved the same way my passion did: Logitech Driving Force GT, Logitech G27, Thrustmaster T500, AccuForce V2.
Each step taught me what felt right, what didn’t, and why good hardware makes such a difference. That experience directly influences how I design every DIY Sim Studio project — focusing on feel, consistency, and realism rather than marketing promises.
Besides sim racing, I also enjoy Virtual Pinball.
WHY DID I CREATE DIY SIM STUDIO?
I created DIY Sim Studio because I couldn’t find what I was looking for.
Commercial sim racing hardware was often:
- Too expensive
- Not customizable
- Closed and impossible to modify or repair
So I started designing my own solutions — clean, robust, and realistic — and sharing them with other sim racers who wanted a better alternative.
Building DIY Project is not always easy.
The hardest parts were:
- Designing parts strong enough for real racing forces
- A product whose parts are readily available, inexpensive, and can be purchased worldwide
- Creating projects that beginners could actually finish
- Finding reliable electronics solution
- Writing clear documentation instead of assuming prior knowledge
Every mistake, failed prototype, and redesign helped improve the projects you see today.

WHY AM I PROUD OF IT?
I’m proud because DIY Sim Studio is used by real people, all over the world.

- More than 2,500 projects have been built
- Beginners and experienced makers use the same designs
- Independent creators and sim racing YouTubers have reviewed the projects
- Many customers build their very first sim racing hardware thanks to these plans
Seeing something I designed become part of someone’s sim rig is the most rewarding part of this journey.
DIY SIM STUDIO PROJECT TIMELINE
2019
Learning and first drawing
Early Sim Racing Pedals drawing created. Self-taught learning of 3D CAD design, electronics (with Arduino), welding, mechanics, and some machining techniques (3D printing, laser cutting, CNC milling).
2020 & 2021
From Hobby to Project
Sharing Sim Racing Pedals WIP with other sim racers on Facebook and forums. First feedback, improvements, and community interest.
2022
Public Launch
DIY Sim Studio goes online. First downloadable Sim Racing Pedals CAD plans released.
2023
Growth & Refinement
Expansion of the catalog: 3D Printed Pedals, Shifters, Handbrake, Steering Wheels. Better documentation and electronics guidance.
2024
Community & Recognition
2,000+ completed builds. Reviews from sim racing YouTubers and press coverage.
2025
New Designs & New Identity
Release of new 3D CAD plans for iconic steering wheels inspired by brands like AMG, Audi, and more.
DIY Sim Studio also enters a new phase with a modernized website, a new logo, and an improved user experience designed to make projects easier to explore, build, and enjoy.
This project grows with the community.
